Dr. Maria Gent, Ed.D, MA, is a multilingual Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate and Licensed School Psychologist who provides supportive, client-centered care for adults, older adults, and individuals navigating a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental challenges. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, Maria is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where clients feel understood and empowered

Maria specializes in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), executive functioning challenges, and life transitions. Her approach is strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming, and trauma-informed, helping clients build confidence, resilience, and practical tools for everyday life.

Maria earned her Doctorate in Education with a concentration in Special Education from Nova Southeastern University in 2023. She also holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and School Psychology from Marist College and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Nova Southeastern University, with minors in Forensic Psychology, Substance Abuse and Criminology, and English.


In addition to her clinical work, Maria is a Board Certified Advocate in Special Education (BCASE), a National Association of School Psychologists member, and holds licensure in both Washington and Maryland. Her broad educational and clinical background allows her to support clients with compassion, cultural awareness, and deep understanding.
